But What Do I Do Now?
The April rain falls. Time is passing quickly. You are frantic. What do I need to do next?
See how your mind worries you. Drop all pretenses. You are your worst enemy. You have heard this before but don’t believe it. It is true. You stand in the way of your own enjoyment.
Give up thinking from your pretend self. As a matter of fact, give up thinking about yourself at all. For now. Nature abhors a vacuum and if you quiet your mind you will let the Truth in.
That’s right. Try thinking of nothing. It isn’t easy is it? Be at ease since your mechanical mind takes care of what needs to be thought about automatically. You don’t have to think about beating your own heart do you? It is rightfully done by the part of your brain and heart that need to think about that process. If you think about your own heartbeat, it can change, sure! And so can your blood pressure. Who needs to do that? Does it help you enjoy life more? So much is useless chatter upstairs.
This is the foundation of many teachings from the sages of history. Meditation, prayer, selflessness, no mind, chanting, all are ways to quiet the noise that drowns healthful life.
Learn one of these skills and you have another valuable tool for your life toolbox.
You didn’t pass all of the challenges of history, through tens of thousands of years, to throw away your inheritance. You cannot add one millimeter to your height so let nature and the creator and truth add measure to you forever from now on.
